More

PEACH VICE is a post-pandemic band, born from the storm of the "pre-pandemic man". They describe themselves as "metaphysical-dialectical beings" with an emphasis on chaos and rage, spreading positive anger and a desire to develop (un)consciousness. The band takes its final form before the end of 2022, announcing its presence with the videos for "Breathe" and "King". These songs were just a prelude to their debut album "EKIPIZZA", which was released on January 31, 2023. Since then, PEACH VICE has established themselves as one of the most explosive acts on the Macedonian scene. Their first performance at the Earthquake 11 festival laid the foundation for a series of powerful concerts across the country, including impressive performances by D-Festival, as well as the energetic performances of Vostanie (2023) and Metal Discharge (2024). After the debut success, the band continued to release singles, among which stand out "Lice", "Zbor" and the most recent "Mi se gadi" (October 2024), released under the auspices of the independent publishing house "Mrtov Konj".

More

Next to Silence is a Macedonian jazz band that has been building a recognizable musical expression for a long time, shaped through the long-term collaboration of its members in various formations. Their music moves between genres, avoiding clear categories. Spiritual and sarcastic elements are intertwined in their approach, creating an atmosphere that is more felt than explained. Although initially inspired by the aesthetics of ECM, through reinterpretations of existing works, the band naturally transitioned to creating original music. Their albums, released for SJF Records at the Skopje Jazz Festival, embody various sound stories and tell what is best said without words. Although the band's name Next to Silence comes from a sentence in a jazz magazine that describes the music as "the most beautiful sound after silence," their music is neither the most beautiful sound nor silence. It is something in between. The band's music can be experienced as an invocation of different narratives or as a soundscape devoid of concrete meaning - an experience that can lead you to silence.

More

The saxophonist Arnau Garrofé debuted as a band leader with the project “Frantik Zen”. It is a composition with an eclectic sound that evokes fusion from the 70s and 80s, but with a contemporary musical approach. Frantik Zen’s music skillfully intertwines complex compositions with a solid groove and intense rhythms. Although deeply rooted in the funk and R&B tradition, the influence of the virtuosity of the modern saxophone school is clearly felt in it. Named the best alternative jazz album at the “2024 R&B Awards” by Top Shelf Music, the composition is a regular guest at the most prestigious festivals in Bulgaria, performing as an opening act for names such as MonoNeon and Avishai Cohen. Together with some of the most prominent Bulgarian musicians, Garrofé presents an energetic and powerful live experience.

Dane Alderson
One of the most exciting bassists of our time, Australian phenomenon Dane Alderson is a current member of the legendary band Yellowjackets. He began his career in Australia as a child prodigy, winning prestigious awards and scholarships (the James Morrison Scholarship) as a teenager. His portfolio includes collaborations with greats such as Victor Wooten and Stanley Jordan, as well as performances with the world's leading symphony orchestras. Known for his exceptional technique and melodiousness, Alderson is the perfect choice to bring Pastorius' complex and energetic spirit to life.

As a long-time leader of prestigious orchestras and collaborator of top world soloists, his presence guarantees precise performance and sophisticated sound.

This program is dedicated to the man who redefined the role of the bass guitar in music. Through masterful arrangements for big band, the National Jazz Orchestra, Alderson and Feigl will remind us of Jako's genius – from his work with Weather Report to his anthological solo compositions.
